Well, there goes the weekend. Sounds like you're going to need a lot of legal advice in Inshriach, so obviously I'm going to have to come with. As your attorney I advise you to rent a fast car with open top*, with a tape recorder for special music.

* maybe not an open top.

Kate, Walter, James, Anthony, Joris - what can I say, rocking cool that you're all up for helping out, and thanks for taking the time to put it in writing. Of course, now that you've done that, you bank on me holding you to it. Especially now we have a lawyer ;)

In terms of where we are so far, plan is for a small but perfectly formed crew to descend on Inshriach for a 48-hour shoot this side of New Year, with the aim of putting together a 3-minute sampler. I'm meeting @sizemore for lunch tomorrow to work out exactly where we're going to go with it. The newfound momentum of Slingers aside, Mike's well up for bringing his inestimable talents to bear on things. Turns out he wrote a dissertation about Creature way back when. Which is handy.

Maybe this will go nowhere - it wouldn't be the first time one of my projects has lost its way. But this feels different. Everything's sitting up pretty damn nicely. So watch this space - things could get interesting.

Peace x

Hey Dan,

Back in the lowlands, just read your post about your cousin Max. The project sounds real cool, I'm up for helping out anyway I can, which includes helping on the legal side of things.

Let's stay in touch.

Dan, I'll happilly go anywhere this project takes you, so don't hesitate to holler if you want an extra sounding board, a spare pair of hands, or just a night in front of the reassuring ripple of old VHS tapes.

Sounds like a fitting tribute and a worthy (and extremely entertaining) project.

Im 100% on board. I sold out slightly by putting creature from the black Lagoon on Lovefilm rather than scouring Sue Ryder in Aviemore (probably for evermore) for the VHS experience. By New Year appropriate hardware will be installed at Inshriach to allow full fuzzy vision, you bring the tapes I will bring the popcorn.

Heres to Max.

Dan, amazing post, amazing project. I'm not in the industry but if there's any way I can help out, let me know.

I've been thinking for a long time about how Facebook is changing the way we grieve. I think the fact that you've embraced it as part of the collective healing process is brilliant. Sometimes you can't help but feel that "social networking" is frivolous and contrived, but really it's as much a part of our lives now as going to the pub or writing a letter. It's not as satisfying as either of those, necessarily, but I think it's more important than a lot of people want to admit.

Massively best of luck with Loch Ghoon. I look forward to keeping a track of it as it develops...
