To boldly grab where no-one has shared before.

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

We recently put this together for Paramount:

It’s our first global initiative, working with both the Domestic and the International teams.

I’ve just finished watching the last of the Star Trek movies – Insurrection.  Suffice it to say, as franchises go this ones definitely in need of a ‘reboot’.  I watched the first three a couple of weekends ago, and was really taken aback by the scale and substance of the original Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

It’ll be interesting to work on this – I’m not known for being a major Trekker, but I’m still enough of an enthusiast to be able to enjoy the sheer enormity of Star Trek and its following, and am looking forward to working on a campaign for a property engendering such fanatical enthusiasm from the few, and appealing in some inexplicable way to so many.

Stay tuned. Keep watching…

UPDATE: [When watching this trailer, I HIGHLY recommend using the fullscreen option. it's that little box with the arrow in it, on the right-hand side. Yup, that one.]

You may have seen the Watchmen widget adorn these pages before now, but this one’s different. It probably looks the same right now, but plan is that come roughly 4am 1am GMT tomorrow this (Friday) morning there’s going to be one important difference.

And guess who gets to be up at that time in the morning pushing the changes live? ≠)

UPDATE [12.17PM GMT Thursday] One detail you might want to note: that little fullscreen option down below the trailer window. You might be needing that.

UPDATE [00.38AM GMT Friday] Twenty minutes to go, or thereabouts. I’m really very tired, and have lots of switches and levers to operate to ensure this works properly. I think, perhaps, tea.

UPDATE [01.39AM GMT Friday] Cheeky blighters went early.  Trailer was live by the time I sat back down with my brew.  Thankfully, around the same time our widget dev popped up in IM and ushered it live.  All very painless, and immensely satisfying.  Think I’m going to have me a little kip now.  Tomorrow’s hardly simple.

Night all x

Who watches the Watchmen? We do ≠)

Here it is. It might not be the chock full of content right now, but just look at how many days we’ve got left to fill it with all manner of Watchmen goodness!

WIDGET DO AGENTE 86

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

This is taken from the Brazilian version of the Quest for Global Domination, created for Warner Bros International to promote the forthcoming release of GET SMART (to be released in Brazil under the name “Agente 86″).

I created this agent ID for little Rubes, who is a KAOS agent. When I get the chance I’ll sign Lola up to CONTROL, and they can have their own little Quest for Parental Domination.

The first of five great little mini-games we’re producing to promote WANTED, a new movie by Timur Bekmambetov starring James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman and loosely based on the excellent graphic novel by Mark Millar:

Hancock International Widget

This is the first time I’ve seen a widget with the various language options built into it. Figured I’d make a note of it.

Quantum of Solace widget

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008
I grabbed this not because it’s the nicest widget I’ve ever seen, but because I’m getting it MONTHS out from release, and I’m expecting it to give me all the juice on a movie I’m VERY excited about. Reinforces two things I already kind of knew – movie widgets are driven by video content, and 99% about turning up on time.

Something for the weekend?

PPC’s latest widget, promoting Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd for our friends at Warner Bros:

This is the third of the widget’s we’ve created for WB, following on from Beowulf and I Am Legend. One nice touch is that the people who grabbed the widgets for these previous titles can update them to feature content for new movies.

Looks like Depp can sing a bit, and I never tire of Burton’s style. Looking forward to watching it.

This is pretty cool. Been listening to this for a while, on Mr McMaster’s recommendation. Blogging the widget for further examination.
